Allan “Proud
Dad” Sorensen´ll have to “sit out”
our upcoming tour due to his new (very new indeed) “family obligations” and
we wish him all the best in mastering the craft of diaper changing and
breast feedingJ. The band has already found another "skin
basher´n cymbals crasher” who’s
crazy enough
to “join the caravan” –
Magnus Ulfstedt (check him out at www.magnusulfstedt.com)

Dear friends, we wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year!
New album will be out in Feb/March, tour dates are in the works (spring
time?) – looks like a whole lot of “royal
entertainment” for everybody next year.
This site has seen more activities than usual (as well as our MySpace
page) and we’ll continue to update it with whatever might be
interesting for
you, our fans (pictures, assorted reports, shop – yes, we’re
working on it –
and other things “royal”).
Once again – we wish you all happy holidays.
Cheers!
Royal Hunt.

Our new album
is done… In a few days it will be
on its way to our record companies around the world (we’ll keep you posted regarding release
dates) and now we’d like
to introduce our new singer to all of you who’s been waiting for this moment so (im)patiently: Mark
Boals. We hope that you’ll
appreciate Marks contribution to our new album as much as we do and
– to put the record straight
– we give you an opportunity to check it out right away: go to the media section for
sound clips (and, while you’re at
it, check out the band and studio diary sections). Enjoy.

ROYAL HUNT has completed the song
writing for the band's new and upcoming studio album which will become a
sequel to their critically acclaimed concept opus “Paradox”. Lyrical/musical continuation of the story will
be spread over 10 tracks and the actual recording of it will start in May
2007 at NorthPoint Productions while the mixing has been scheduled for
September at the EMI/Medley Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark.

ROYAL HUNT and John West have decided
that at this time (after numerous albums and concert tours) they are no
longer able to contribute creatively to each other’s future musical development. It’s been a hell of a ride,
but both parties feel
like it is about time to move on and explore different musical
paths - therefore, they mutually agreed to part ways as of March
16th, 2007 . “We’re not ruling out possible future collaborations
for a joint venture or a side project” – André and John state -
“but it won’t be under the RH
moniker”.
John had joined Royal Hunt in 1999 during the recording of the “Fear” album and he worked
with the band until our
latest release – live CD/DVD “Royal Hunt 2006”.
We’d
like to express our
gratitude to John for a great 8-year run and we wish him all the best in
his future endeavors.

Happy New Year, everybody!
We´d like to thank you for your support in 2006 and wish you all the best
in 2007… now here are a few things we´ll be entertaining you with in the
New Year :
A new album is in the works – recordings will start during the summer, so we´re expecting it to be
released in Oct/Nov 2007. Fans of the “large format bombastic soundscapes”
– rejoice!
We´ve started to review the video footage for the
future re-packaging/re-release of the two of our live concerts : “1996” and “Closing the Chapter” - no release
dates as of yet, but we´ll keep
you posted.
We´ll be playing some shows this early spring, so
keep an eye on this and TOUR pages.
Now let the corks fly and champagne flow – Happy New Year!

After playing
a few European dates this year RH picked the historic stage of
Sct.Petersburgs Music Hall to film their new “live in concert” DVD on. A beautiful old theatre and some 1000+
enthusiastic fans created great atmosphere for this event, which lasted
about 2 hours (the band played a wide selection of songs from all of
their releases since 1991 and some tracks from the latest one – Paper
Blood) and was captured by 6 cameras. The package will also include some backstage
footage as well as interviews with bandmembers and their roadcrew.
Estimated release date is spring of 2006.

while he's killing himself learning tons of RH tunes we HAVE to tell you
- he's such a great addition to the band! Just wait and see. (read

The
recording of RH's new album is coming to an end – very last touches are being put down as we speak. The
process which took 14 months of studio time, countless miles of
international flights, gallons of sweat-blood'n tears and even more
gallons of Jack Daniels is almost over. The CD will contain 10 songs (no
concept this time) and clocks at just a bit over 50 minutes. Mixing will
start in the middle of March in the legendary EMI/Medley Studio in Copenhagen with
André and Lars Overgaard behind the board. During some “pre-“ listening parties (the band and the
management held quite a few in the last couple of weeks) the responses
from the journalists and some - very fortunate fans were overwhelming:
almost everybody agreed on one thing ... that this is THE most energetic,
inspiring RH release ever!

Old habits
die hard, they say, so now Kenneth Olsen rejoins the Hunting
Family. He'll pick up from where he left off–
double live album “1996”-
and from now on will be responsible for the “drum department” in the band.

JW has landed… John's vocal work –
impeccable as usual – is
done. Showing his heavier side quite a bit more this time, he swept through the entire album like a
tornado: deep growls, chesty barks, piercing high-pitch screams, whisper
to thunder – its all there. “Royal Hunt's best record yet” - he stated – “there`s no comparison, period. The band sounds
stronger than I've ever imagined was possible – every
single track's filled
with remarkable energy. Can't even pick out a favorite song this time...
love them all."

New member of
the “Royal Family” is – now officially - Marcus Jidell (Jackyl &
Hyde, The Ring). Armed to the teeth with every guitar model ever
produced, he left his native Sweden to fill the upcoming RH album with everything
from monster riffs to 12 – fingers tapping (yes, he does sound like he have 12!),
leaving Andre with 1017 guitar tracks to sort out... only to return for
the mixing / photosessions / interviews and other
stuff. Covering any musical style – acousic ballads, Pink
Floyd-ish dreamscapes, Bach – on –
300 km/h and just pure
metal (and STILL managing to stay sane after partying with the band `til
5 in the morning... well, almost every night... and even jumping on stage
to jam with a local band in one of the bars in Copenhagen) he`s a great
addition to RH – welcome, Marcus.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE and mostly OUR FANS!!! (and with the
amount of activities we're planning for it – yes, it will be a VERY
happy... well, very busy new year indeed). Andre has barricaded
himself in the studio, covering the entire floor space with racks
and racks of keyboards... he is barely visible (!) but definitely
heard. The band won't go bragging about all those swirling Hammond riffs,
pounding piano breaks and mind-blowing lead lines which we've heard
so far, but be prepared for a take-no-prisoners musical
extravaganza ride. This time he is serious. OK, now go and swim in Champaign – we know we will!
