Two weeks of vocal recordings are over and - according to everyone who’ve heard it so far – Mark has never sounded better… the fact that inspired Allan to do a slightly different update for our “Studio Diary”.

Due to preparations/rehearsals for our upcoming show at ProgPower USA on September 11th in Atlanta, GA, all recordings (as well as updates in our “Studio Diary”) have been put on hold – we’ll continue this musical (and verbal) abuse as soon as we’ll get back home.

André announced – officially – that he completed keyboard recordings for the new album. The announcement was met with a hint of scepticism because - as we all know by now - a few unexpected, “additional” keyboard tracks have that mysterious tendency to appear out of the blue later, on that very first day of mixing … But that’s the status as of today – have a listen in our “Studio Diary”.

Marcus recorded all of his rhythm guitar parts – quickly and effectively. Check out “Studio Diary” for details and a sound clip.

Pressrelease from Per Schelander: After 4 rollercoaster years of music, laughter and good memories I have to leave Royal Hunt - the reason is that I simply can’t (due to my obligations in Pain of Salvation) give RH the time and effort the band deserves. It’s been lovely to play with you guys – André, Marcus, Allan, Mark and Maria! It also feels good to pass the torch to such a great player as Andreas Passmark, who will fit the band perfectly. My warmest thanks go to all the fans I met during these last 4 years – you really made me feel welcome when I was the new guy and loved while I was on board!
Message from Royal Hunt: We’d like to thank Per for 4 wonderful years with us – his dedication, remarkable musical abilities and easy-going personality has been a great asset to us all. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours, all the success which he so rightfully deserves and – while saying goodbye to a talented bass player - looking forward to continuation of a great friendship. We’d also like to introduce our new friend, an extremely gifted bass player Andreas Passmark (Narnia, Rob Rock, E-Type). Pictures, mp3´s and other details in the “Studio Diary”.

Royal Hunt’s André Andersen was featured in Japanese “Keyboard” magazine, the issue featuring “the most influential keyboard players of the decade”. The in-depth interview includes André’s favourite and current gear, studio/recording insights, life-on-the-road stories, views on composing/producing and tips on how to survive in the music business for over 20 years. The 8-pages article also featured a keyboard clinic, during which André demonstrated some of his previous works as well as improvised pieces.
